Responsibilities
- Assessment & Prioritization
- Performs accurate and thorough patient assessments to determine clinical needs and prioritize care appropriately.
- Conducts risk assessments to identify potential complications and initiates timely interventions.
- Specimen Collection & Processing
- Collects correct and adequate blood and urine specimens as ordered by physicians, following proper techniques and safety procedures.
- Accurately labels specimens and completes all required processing steps to ensure integrity and traceability.
- Ensures appropriate and timely delivery of specimens to the laboratory, coordinating courier transport or outside‑agency pickup when required.
- Documentation & Communication
- Maintains clear, complete, and timely documentation in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support safe and coordinated care.
- Clinical Problem‑Solving
- Applies strong problem‑solving skills to evaluate situations, identify issues, and implement effective solutions in a fast‑paced environment.
- Equipment Operation & Skill Proficiency
- Operates clinical equipment safely and competently, ensuring proper function and reporting malfunctions promptly.
- Maintains proficiency in required clinical procedures and adheres to established standards of practice.
- Medication Safety
- Demonstrates safe medication practices, including accurate administration, monitoring, and adherence to all medication safety protocols.
- Teamwork & Initiative
- Works collaboratively within the healthcare team, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
- Demonstrates initiative by anticipating needs, taking proactive steps to support workflow, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- Minimum one year Emergency Department or Critical Care experience preferred.
- PALS within 6 month required
- TNCC within 1 year required
- BABY Certification within 6 months of hire
- EPIC preferred
- RN - Registered Nurse
- BLS - Basic Life Saving certification
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- NIH - Stroke Certification
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school
