Your role at BHSN:
As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the mental health clinic. Support providers, clients, customer experience and nursing through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.

What your day might look like:
- Psyckes- identify those clients that flag for quality concerns and help support clinical review by working with providers and nursing to ensure compliance.
- Hixny- Be able to retrieve data from Hixny to support organizational quality measures/indicators
- Obtain prior authorization for client's medications.
- Organize, information needed to ensure compliance with quality indicators
- Assist during medical examinations with tasks that are withing scope.
- Train with customer experience to assist in answering phones, scheduling clients for appointments, being the face for when clients and visitors enter the clinic.
- Assists individuals in making appointments for various clinical services throughout the BHSN System;
- Identifies specific patient needs to determine appropriate appointment type, location and urgency;
- Obtains necessary demographic and insurance information and enters data into department computer system;
- Obtains insurance authorizations/pre-authorizations as required;
- Verifies insurance coverage and other related data with third party carriers for scheduled appointments/procedures;
- Reviews program stats entered by practitioners, nursing, and prescribers to ensure that stats are entered and corrected with in designated time frame for that program.
- Works with finance and compliance to assure that billing is completed within the timeframes established in each program.
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Other duties as assigned
Your skills and qualifications:
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Punctual and self-disciplined
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software to include Clinical Works
- Degree in medical assistance is preferred
