Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in various settings, including long-term care facilities, assisted living environments, and primary care clinics. The LPN will work under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians, ensuring that patients receive appropriate medical attention and support throughout their treatment.
Duties
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with student healthcare plans.
Key Skills:
- Strong clinical expertise in both acute and chronic care across pediatric populations.
- Proficient in care coordination and discharge planning to support continuity of care.
- Knowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of durable medical equipment (DME) used in school settings.
- Experienced in providing empathetic behavioral health support and managing emotional regulation strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with students, families, and staff.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple student care needs and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Flexible and adaptable to work across various educational environments, including special education classrooms and early childhood programs.
- Monitor student health status and promptly report significant changes to the school nurse or healthcare provider.
- Assist in student health assessments and contribute to the development of individualized care plans (IEPs, IHPs).
- Provide direct personal care to students, including hygiene, toileting, dressing, and feeding assistance.
- Support care transitions by educating students and families on follow-up instructions and community resources.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams (e.g., teachers, counselors, psychologists) to support student health and learning.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student health records in compliance with FERPA and HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in behavioral health interventions and assist with crisis response as needed.
- Support medical procedures such as catheterizations, tracheostomy care, or seizure protocols when applicable.
- Provide specialized care for infants and young children in early learning programs, when required.
