Position: Chef de Cuisine

Location: Village Vino (Kensington)

Reports To: Corporate Executive Chef

Schedule: Full Time (Average 50 hrs per week)

Salary: $62,400

The company is headquartered in San Diego, California and services large corporations, private clients, major sports and news broadcast companies, venues, concert tours, golf events, corporate marketing tours, and major sporting events throughout San Diego and across the globe.

The company manages Village Vino in the Kensington Neighborhood of San Diego.  The Wine Bar\Restaurant has been serving the local community for 11 years and has provided San Diego with a constantly rotating selection of wines from small producers that we feature by the glass and by the bottle as well as small bites, salads, flatbreads from a limited curated seasonal menu.

Job Description: As a Chef de Cuisine at Village Vino, you will be responsible for managing the kitchen, creating and executing a diverse and appealing menu, and ensuring a high standard of food quality. Your role encompasses the following key responsibilities:

1.       Culinary Leadership:

o   Manage kitchen operation and staff when assigned.

o   Direct and supervise operations and training personnel to maintain a motivated and skilled culinary team.

o   Work with Front of house to ensure positive dining experience.

 

 

2.       Kitchen Operations:

o   Maintaining food handling standards and that food and supply orders are properly placed. 

o   Assist in food inventories, receive and verify deliveries, check product quality standards kitchen management, cleaning and equipment maintenance, food preparation, vendor ordering, menu creation, and related duties. 

 

Job Requirements:

·       Associate degree in Culinary. 

·       Training in Good Practice, Food Safety or similar. 

·       Minimum of three years of experience in Luxury Events Management and Cuisine positions.

·       Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching, as well as constant standing throughout shift.
