This position is responsible for leading teams associated with projects related to capital expenditures, equipment upgrades, facility modifications, and other large endeavors. Successful candidate will be responsible for creating, managing, and tracking the timing, resources, and budgets for assigned projects in a manufacturing environment. This role creates and delivers timely reports for multiple simultaneous major projects, including up-front project definition, followed by status and financial impact reports throughout the life of a project. This role works with Operations Support and the Senior Leadership Team in creating projects and ensuring overall project objectives are completed and expected results are achieved and sustained.

- Create overall project plans and budgets to predict and manage financial commitments, required personnel, and project timing or schedules. Project plans must be broadly reviewed and communicated as part of project approval, to ensure scope and resource commitments meet the defined business objectives. Creating these project plans will require working closely with various leaders and project team members
- Create a master schedule for projects, to ensure resource alignment (financial, human, space, support personnel and equipment,) for all simultaneous projects.,
- Create a standard for capital funded projects from project identification, solution specs, vendor selection, through installation and ROI realization.
- Write capital proposals with appropriate supporting documents, such as problem definition (e.g., equipment downtime or a safety risk), project charter, project scope, projected internal and external team members, Return On Investment (ROI), and post audit tracking metrics. This will be a cross-functional approach, to assist the leadership team creating and managing the project funnel
- Utilize project management software to create, track and forecast specific requirements for individual departments per project, to monitor tasks and expenses and prevent budget deviation and scope variance.

- Manage cross-functional teams of people who do not report directly to you, such as business unit and shared services
- Manage procurement of external equipment, material, or specialty services
- Manage external resources in conjunction with maintenance and facilities (e.g., riggers, electrical crews, concrete crews, etc.) when they are on site to support a project
- Create detailed specifications for new equipment with the support from Engineering and Maintenance, for the purpose of quoting with external machine builders
- Lead and manage complex machines and process projects from concept through implementation.
- Utilize guidelines for project implementation
- Conduct regular meetings with the technical staff and key plant staff.
- Create intake and closure process for CMMS Work Orders with high level Work Order monitoring.
- Practice safe working habits and follow safety procedures, policy, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
- Ability to work towards continuous improvement of product quality and ISO 9001:2015 system
- Financial acumen to create budgets, estimate expected return on investment (ROI), and calculate net present value. Financial skills are required.
- 3-5 years project management experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Degree in Project Management, PMP, or related field of experience is preferred
- Demonstrated leadership success in a manufacturing environment, working successfully with people at all levels
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills (strong in Excel, also comfortable with PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and MS Projects)
- Proficient knowledge of software programs related to project management
- Personal drive for success, with a sense of urgency to hit deadlines and meet commitments
- Collaborative leadership style, with proven ability to work, communicate, and exchange ideas with other teams and leaders
- This role is in a manufacturing environment with metal fabrication, paint, welding, and other production processes that can generate dust, heat, cold, noise, and other environmental factors. The successful candidate must be safe and comfortable in such an environment.
