We are currently seeking an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant to complement our dedicated team.

The role of the Certified Dental Assistant is to assist the dentist in providing exceptional dental treatment and customer service to patients.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Answering patient questions before an appointment.
  • Preparing patients for dental procedures by making them comfortable and providing any instructions.
  • Sterilizing dental instruments and equipment.
  • Preparing the dental exam room for use by the dentist by making sure it is stocked and organized.
  • Assisting the dentist during procedures, including passing instruments, getting supplies, and maintaining a dry field.
  • Fabricating and cementing temporary restorations.
  • Packing gingival retraction cord.
  • Assisting with dental x-rays.
  • Assisting with dental lab work.
  • Instructing patients in oral hygiene, plaque control programs, and post-operative instructions.
  • Discussing treatment recommendations with patients.
  • Maintaining patient records.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Dental Assistant Certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years working in a dental practice as a chairside assistant.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written for audiences from all levels within the organization. Ability to speak and write clearly and effectively.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Ability to build rapport with patients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Sound decision-making skills, drive, and desire to succeed.
  • Active and attentive listening skills.
  • Displays strong work ethic.
  • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks simultaneously.
  • Pays attention to detail.
  • Displays strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with Dentrix dental software and Microsoft Office required.
