Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician with experience and aspirations for closing manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care for animals while assisting veterinarians in various medical procedures. You will also assist the hospital manager with hospital administrative duties and be responsible for managing the close process at 6pm on scheduled days. Your expertise in veterinary practices and animal handling will contribute to the well-being of our patients and the satisfaction of their owners.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatments.
- Provide support in animal restraint and handling during examinations and procedures.
- Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and health maintenance for their animals.
- Explain doctor recommendations and treatment plans with excellent customer service professionalism.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment, including kennels and treatment areas.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent infection during surgical procedures.
- Ensure hospital daily close procedures are high quality and completed to ensure readiness for morning schedule
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- At least 5 years of experience in Veterinary hospital setting
- Experience with cash handling processes
- Experience with electronic patient records system
- Experience coordinating client care between team members.
- Experience with preventative care.
- Experience with surgical procedure support and pre-surgical support
- Proficiency in veterinary critical care practices.
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy and dental terminology.
- Strong knowledge of vaccine and care schedules
- Strong ability to communicate doctor recommendations to clients.
- Familiarity with animal husbandry practices and kennel management.
- Ability to effectively handle and restrain animals safely.
