What are the responsibilities and job description for the Live Haul Driver position at Bell and Evans?
JOB SUMMARY:
Drives diesel-powered tractor-trailer combination to transport live poultry and jockey trailers on property or both assigned by the Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Ability to log in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Self-Starter
- Ability to pre- and post-trip equipment
- Ability to work 12 hours per day.
- Excellent attendance and safety record.
- Must be able to follow instructions, be very flexible, and work independently.
- Ability to handle on-road situations when they occur.
- Float to a Dressed Driver position when required.
- Ability to operate forklift.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or at least 2 years of experience and/or training; or the combination equivalent of both education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to speak English read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. Simple mathematics.
