Job Overview:

This role will be responsible for the maintenance of 40 acres of grounds including athletic fields. This position will provide support for set-up and tear down of regularly scheduled and unscheduled events, support for inventory and minor maintenance of athletics, landscaping, transportation, and maintenance equipment, along with regular preventive maintenance, deferred maintenance, unscheduled repairs, cleaning of the school, ice removal, inspections of building systems and grounds work. Responding to building emergencies with a sense of urgency will be required.

Responsibilities:

• Mow all grounds to acceptable standards.
• Spray safe weed killer as required on landscaping and athletic fields.
• Routinely edge all grounds and athletic fields.
• Fertilize athletic fields and grounds to maintain a green healthy lawn.
• Aerate lawns at least annually.
• Pull weeds by hand, as necessary.
• Use weed eaters, as necessary.
• Cut back intrusive vegetation to Bellarmine properties.
• Set up for events.
• Tear down after events.
• Assist with MEP operations as needed.
• Submit work orders into Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Complete work orders in CMMS.
• Clean and maintain equipment.
• Inspect, clean, and prepare vehicles for daily operation.
• Line/mark fields.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
• Preform minor maintenance on irrigation and assist in irrigating grounds.

Necessary Qualifications

• Knowledge of grounds field maintenance.
• Must have or obtain herbicide spray certification/license within six months.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Must be a team player.
• Ability to operate a broad spectrum of landscaping and athletic field equipment.
• Familiar with all standard concepts, practices and procedures within the ground’s maintenance.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Uses computer applications such as spreadsheet, word processing, email, calendar, and database software in the performance of the job.

Compensation:

• Hourly position
• Hourly range: $16.94 - $21.17
