Diabetic Education Coordinator
Beloit Health System is hiring for a Diabetic Education Coordinator. This position will allow you to make competitive wage, with generous benefits, while working for a Health System with over 50 years of experience that is known for our friendly atmosphere and focus on patients.
The Diabetic Education Coordinator will coordinate and run the diabetic education for both inpatient and outpatient programs, educating on diabetic topics including medications, disease process, diet, and lifestyle modifications. The Diabetic Education Coordinator will collaborate with providers and nursing staff. This Diabetic Education Coordinator will educate staff on diabetes topics during orientation skills days and as questions arise.
Job Requirements:
- Hold classes on diabetic education and pre-diabetes.
- Attend local health fairs, diabetic self-management and quarterly market programs to providers and community.
- Create/develop diabetic pamphlet for each year.
- Manage program certifications.
- Assist with monthly nursing orientation (5 days).
- Assist with Annual Skills Days for RN’s, CNA’s, HUCS- develop content, facilitate presenters and coordinate.
- Assist in managing/maintain Relias (Web-based learning module).
- Adding/Removing employees, enrolling in courses, creating content and uploading.
- Cover for other Education staff on days off (NSS).
- Work in other inpatient areas to support staffing on inpatient units.
- Other duties/tasks as assigned.
Required:
- Current WI RN licensure
- Graduate of accredited ADN program, BSN preferred
- BLS required
Preferred:
- Certified Diabetic Education (CDE)
- Previous Diabetes Education experience desired
