What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessional (One-on-One Aide) position at BelovED Community & Empowerment Academy Charter Schools?
Empowerment Academy Charter School is hiring a paraprofessional to support a Middle School and High School Student. This position will work to support a student during their basic instruction in reading, writing, math, and other educational related activities as assigned by the teacher. You will be providing help or breaks/redirection as needed. This is a full time job with a salary and benefits.
Base Salary: $33,000-$35,000

Teacher certification is not required for this position. However, candidates must, at minimum, have completed 2 years of college and possess an Associate’s or higher degree. Possessing a BA, or possessing 60 college credits and working towards a Bachelor’s Degree and/or some teaching experience would be a major plus. It is also important to have strong communications skills, basic administrative skills, and to be a team player who possesses maturity, a strong work ethic, and a whatever-it-takes to help children attitude.
Charter schools ARE public schools. Our teachers are part of the New Jersey Teachers’ Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF), same as teachers at traditional public schools, and can transfer their pension credits from a traditional public school to our school and vice versa. Additional benefits include:
