Position Summary:
As a Home Care Aide, you will be the heart of our company, providing essential support and companionship to our clients. You will assist with daily living activities, ensuring a safe, clean, and cheerful home environment. This role is deeply rewarding and offers the chance to build genuine connections while helping others maintain their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Companionship & Engagement: Provide social interaction, conversation, and emotional support. Engage clients in activities like reading, games, light exercise, and walks.
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, laundry, changing bed linens, and keeping the client's living space tidy and safe.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to the client's dietary needs and preferences.
- Mobility Assistance: Help clients with moving around the home, including transfers from bed to chair or assistance with walking.
- Medication Reminders: Remind clients to take their pre-scheduled medications at the appropriate times. (Note: This is non-medical; you will not administer medications).
- Errands & Transportation: Provide transportation to appointments, grocery shopping, and other essential errands using your own reliable vehicle.
- Reporting: Observe and report any changes in the client's physical, mental, or emotional condition to the supervising nurse or office staff.
Qualifications:
- A genuine passion for helping others and a patient, compassionate demeanor.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior experience in caregiving (professional or personal) is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Must have a valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and have excellent communication skills.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
