Title: Regional Director

Principle Duties/Responsibilities

1. Responsible for directing and supervising the regional office of Benchmark Family Services, Inc. including but not limited to personnel matters such as hiring, assigning duties, in-service training, supervision, evaluation of staff and terminations.

2. Responsible for the administration of policies and procedures established by Benchmark Family Services for the operation of the regional office.

3. Assists in the preparation of the annual budget and control of expenditures according to budget allowance.

4. Oversees/assists in development of treatment plans with Case Management staff and/or approved Treatment Team.

5. Establishes a formal process for case reviews and information transfer between agencies and referral sources, meeting their needs, to promote their professional involvement in treatment.

6. Provides oversight to case management services to foster children including but not limited to, ensuring advocacy on behalf of the client and family with social service agencies, court, police, medical, school, and other mental health professionals.

7. Complies with paperwork requirements as established by state standards, licensing, contractual expectations, and Benchmark Family Services, Inc.

8. Provides crisis intervention services as needed to assist with case stabilization.

9. Participates in individual supervision, case conferences, staff meetings, and team meetings. May be asked to represent Benchmark Family Services, Inc. at community and civic functions and market the program.

10. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals, and literature and attending in-services, conferences, and workshops.

11. Responsible for professional leadership and technical consultation to the Board, determination of policy, and for periodic evaluations of the Agency’s performance in terms of the conditions of licensure.

12. Conducts statistical analysis of current market trends, funding source data, clinical trends, length of stay, outcome monitoring, and key referral source admission patterns on an on-going basis.

13. Assist the Agency Administrator in training responsibilities, labor relations, fiscal monitoring and other related duties.

14. Participates in recruitment and helps conduct/oversee home studies and family interviews.

15. Has working knowledge of placement management system in order to provide oversight, supervisory review, and training to all staff in its use.

16. Regional Director is responsible for ensuring that all positions are covered, and duties are executed.

17. Assist with other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Education, Knowledge and Skills:

1. Education – Must meet all requirements of state, licensing and contract expectations.

Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in social work or a human services field. Master’s Degree in social work or human services field preferred.

Two (2) years’ experience required if Bachelor’s degree. One (1) year experience if Master’s Degree.

3. Understanding of the unique needs of children and adolescents who receive services from multiple agencies as well as clients who are considered emotionally challenged.

4. Knowledge of assessment, treatment planning, DSM-IVR and DSM-V. Understanding of thirdparty reimbursement and public funding sources for placements.

5. Knowledge of community resources and related agencies.

6. Interpersonal skills necessary for effective communication and interaction with referral sources, patients, families, outside agency personnel, and other care providers when gathering and exchanging information. This level of interpersonal skills requires a great deal of tact and diplomacy.

7. Effective presentation/public speaking skills. In addition, Regional Director should have effective writing skills, including appropriate spelling and grammatical soundness.

8. Comprehensive knowledge of a broad range of medical/psychiatric diagnoses, treatment modalities, therapeutic services, and intervention techniques.

9. Ability to be candid and assertive in addressing issues with staff, foster families, and collateral agencies. This would be to provide valuable feedback as well as promote changes/corrections to maintain a positive work environment, positive collaborative attitude with other agencies, and maintain viability of our foster homes.

10. Ability to assess and document employees’ job performance and annual evaluation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
