IT Project Manager

IT Project Manager (Contract) Location: New York, NY Hybrid | Contract Role

Our client is seeking a contract IT Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of technology initiatives within the organization. Reporting to the Application Development Director and the CIO, this individual will be responsible for managing application development projects from concept through deployment while contributing technical expertise and collaborating with development resources.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical experience, a collaborative mindset, and a strong interest in both traditional and emerging technologies, including low-code and AI-integrated platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Independently manage technology projects from inception through deployment, while working under the guidance of the Application Development Director and CIO as needed.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit and document business and technical requirements.

• Oversee development processes including testing and deployment phases.

• Provide direction to developers and help integrate tools such as GitHub Copilot to enhance code quality and troubleshooting.

• Contribute technical input on projects involving a range of technologies including .NET, VB, PHP with JavaScript, Python, SQL, SharePoint, and REST API integrations.

• Work on emerging technology projects, including the use of no-code platforms (e.g., Glide) and industry-standard frameworks to create AI agents and agentic workflows.

• Manage stakeholder communications, expectations, and priorities across multiple concurrent projects.

• Embrace feedback, guidance, and ongoing learning to stay aligned with organizational needs and technology direction.

• Promote flexibility, openness to training, and willingness to grow with the team and evolving tools.

Education & Experience:

• 5 7 years of professional experience managing technology projects.

• Prior hands-on experience in application development or integration work using:

• .NET, VB, PHP with JavaScript, Python, SQL

• REST APIs and SharePoint

Project Management & Delivery:

• Strong ability to independently manage application development projects across all lifecycle stages.

• Comfortable navigating complex requirements and stakeholder dynamics.

Technical Fluency:

• Knowledgeable in both traditional programming languages and modern no-code/low-code platforms.

• Familiar with AI integration and building production-grade workflows using agentic frameworks.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Willing to take direction and collaborate closely with supervisory staff.

Growth Mindset:

• Eager to learn and adopt new technologies.

• Flexible and adaptable to evolving project needs and priorities. This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence at one of the company s NYC offices (located across all five boroughs) 2 3 days per week, or approximately 50% of the time.
