Cafeteria Assistant High School Campus
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Student Union duties:
- Clean round tables in Student Union
- Stack chairs
- Throw away remaining trash on tables from students
- Clean inside and outside of microwaves, and counter space
- Keep spoons, forks, napkins and microwave tissues stocked
- Refill water in jug near microwaves for students to use
- Sweep all floors with dust mop
- Pull out all chairs at end of B lunch from wall for custodian to mop
- Lift all round tables and push to one side of room for custodian to mop
- Empty microwave counter trash cans only
Cafeteria duties:
- Set up Ping Pong table for B lunch to use, take apart and put away after lunch
- Clean seats and tables
- Lift seats
- Sweep all floors with dust mop
- Push all tables to one side of room for custodial to mop
- Clean cafeteria utensil and condiment table
- Clean serving counter
- Keep utensils, napkins and condiments stocked
- Pull condiments in to kitchen between lunches
Serving food from vendors:
- Prepare for specific vendor each day ie: pull out fortune cookies in kitchen, serve food from warmers or fridge, hand out sauces for sandwiches, count sandwiches and serve from boxes, hand out chips for orders, transfer orders to metal trays, put out salsa, put trays in warmer between lunches, separate paper plates and serve pizza from boxes or fridge, hand out utensils.

Competencies, Skills and Abilities
- SKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating equipment used in school cafeteria; maintaining accurate records; and providing customer service.
- KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math; understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; and understand multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: food safety and sanitation requirements; and basic kitchen utensils and equipment.
- ABILITY is required to schedule activities; collate data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals; work with similar types of data; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data may require independent interpretation; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate. Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: working as part of a team; meeting deadlines and schedules; and working with children

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Will be required to pass a background check upon hire
- Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a school cafeteria
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Duties may include frequent walking, standing, stooping, and lifting up to approximately 25 pounds. Employees may be required to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally. This position will require the employee to have the ability to stand for extended periods of time.
