Position Summary:
The IT Specialist maintains user accounts, profiles file sharing, access privileges and security; provides training and support telecommunication systems. The IT Specialist also uses company-provided systems to enter, track and document work; maintain and complete IT tickets.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
· Maintain user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access privileges and security; provide training and support.
· Use company provided systems to enter, track and document work; maintain and complete IT tickets.
· Maintain and manage hardware and software on desktops, laptops, mobile devices, audio-visual equipment and related equipment.
· Respond to user request for hardware and software assistance; provide training on software and hardware.
· Maintain printer, routers, switches and wiring.
· Perform trouble-shooting, support and upgrades including rebuilds and hardware.
· Research new technologies; provide suggestions for change and improvements that reduce cost and /or increase productivity.
· Assist with the management of upgrades to the company’s telephone systems.
· Interact with internal clients at all levels to help resolve IT-related issues and provide answers in a timely manner.
· Assist with the implementation of network security measures.
· Support the production of monthly, quarterly, annual and other reports as needed.
· Perform routine office tasks as necessary for the operation and presentation of a professional office; assist with other tasks as assigned.
· Promptly, professionally and courteously accept received calls/inquiries and direct and/or record and relay messages.
· Support management and other departments with administrative work and projects as required.
· Participate in safety and emergency response plan maintenance, development and training activities as assigned.
· Communicate by telephone or in person with contractors, vendors and other service providers as requested by members of the senior or executive management team.
· Keep supervisors well informed of activities, results of efforts and problems/potential problems identified; recommend corrective action to supervisor as needed.
· Respect confidentiality in discussing staff, visitors, clients, tenants and organizational matters.
· Report to work as scheduled and on time.
· Maintain a thorough working knowledge of and adhere to organizational policies, regulations, and procedure.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· ACTC certificate a plus.
· Valid driver’s license with ability to meet company’s insurance requirements
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Two (2) years of demonstrated professional experience performing network management and desktop support duties in a MAC and PC environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· MAC OSx desktop support.
· Intermediate or advanced knowledge of personal computers, and peripherals, word processing and spreadsheet software, email and the Internet.
· Maintain the confidence of co-workers; Company management, vendors, clients and contractors by keeping appropriate information confidential, as defined in the Company Handbook and in any other signed Confidentiality Agreements.
· Effectively communicate information in one-on-one, small and large group situations to visitors, vendors, clients, tenants and other employees of the company.
· Build and leverage relationships with internal and external partners to achieve measurable business results.
· Exceptional interpersonal skills to work with all levels of employees.
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills, strong decision making ability.
· Willingly receive guidance and supervision; follow work rules, safety practices, work procedures; meet deadlines, punctuality and attendance standards; work mandatory overtime, etc.
· Work under stress when confronted with an emergency, critical or unusual situations, or in situations in which working with speed and sustained attention are critical aspects of the job.
Physical Job Description:
· While performing duties of this job, the employee is exposed indoor conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands:
· Perform repetitive work, to continuously perform the same work according to set procedures sequence or pace.
· View computer screen for long periods of time.
