Laborer

Summary

CEI, a company within the BSNC family, is currently seeking a qualified Laborer for LANL C-2541. The ideal candidate will operate a variety of heavy machinery used in construction, excavation, and other related activities. This role requires a strong focus on safety, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with project teams to ensure efficient completion of tasks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, repair, and replacement of waterlines and related infrastructure.
• Perform manual labor such as digging, trenching, backfilling, and grading.
• Operate hand and power tools, such as shovels, picks, compactors, and jackhammers.
• Prepare job sites by clearing debris, unloading materials, and setting up equipment.
• Follow instructions from supervisors to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
• Load, unload, and transport construction materials and supplies.
• Assist equipment operators and other crew members as needed.
• Identify and report potential hazards or issues to supervisors.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety standards and protocols.
  
  

Qualifications - Experience, Education And Certification

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Previous experience in construction or waterline projects is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with basic construction tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, blueprints, and project plans.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other Characteristics

• Knowledge of safety practices and willingness to comply with all safety regulations.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and on challenging terrain.

Necessary Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, standing, and working in confined spaces.
• Manual dexterity and the ability to work in confined spaces or at heights as needed.
  
  

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about.

• Outdoor work in diverse weather conditions.

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
