This role will ideally be based in our Urbandale, IA office which offers a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office; and 2 days remote where it makes sense to do so. We're also open to having this be a fully remote role but located within the Midwest central plains: NE, OK, OH, TX, IN, IL and MI.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Claim Representative, you'll investigate
crop misapplication and property claims in a prompt, equitable manner by analyzing coverage, liability and damages; evaluating reserves; and negotiating settlement or conclusion of claim. You'll also handle routine coverage, liability and damage issues. You'll be part of a small high-performing team with opportunities to expand your skills via cross training especially during the winter when there's less crop activity. While the claims will span the USA, you won't be required to travel but instead partner with independent adjustors when necessary. #agronomy #agriculture #crop #propertyclaim #co-op #farm

We'll count on you to:
- Examine and analyze policies, contracts and claim forms to determine coverage.
- Promptly investigate losses both virtually or via on-site determine the extent of the insureds liability.
- Request necessary reports, e.g., police reports, fire reports, medical records, property damage inspections, etc.
- Leverage independent adjusting services to assist in the claim investigation when appropriate.
- Establish accurate claim reserves and re-evaluates exposures and reserves during the life of the claim and document claim data for reporting purposes.
- Negotiates settlement or conclusion of claim.
- Consult with Claims Manager/Director when claim cannot be resolved before it moves into litigation; collaborate on claim files in subrogation, arbitration and salvage recovery.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to less experienced Claims Representatives or Trainees.
Qualifications
What you need to have:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 years related experience and/or training i.e. property claims, liability claims, etc.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of insurance coverage, laws and regulations
- Licenses/Certifications/Designations: completion of or working toward AIC, CPCU, SCLA or similar designation; required to obtain and maintain state adjuster licenses where required
