Job Description
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with school personnel, families, and external agencies to:
- Develop and implement intervention strategies
- Support academic and behavioral progress
- Facilitate communication between school and community resources
- Coordinate services between the school and external agencies
- Provide direct mental health services, including:
- Individual and group therapy
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy interventions
- Mindfulness and coping skills training
- Problem-solving support for behavioral concerns
- Mental Health and Educational Support:
- Prepare for and participate in IEP/IFSP and evaluation/re-evaluation processes
- Monitor and track mental health services
- Provide Tier II & Tier III support interventions
- Assist with crisis response and support
- Professional Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and timely records
- Comply with Medicaid billing procedures
- Prepare professional development materials
- Monitor mental health trends and best practices
- Participate in school and district meetings and activities
- Serve as a McKinney-Vento Special Point of Contact (SPOC) for students at Blossomland Learning Center
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Need To Have
- Master's Degree in Social Work or Mental Health
- Valid Michigan Social Work License
- Full approval as a school social worker or eligible for approval
- 3-5 years of mental health work-related experience preferred
