As an Associate Formulator, responsible for supporting R&D Formulators with all aspects of product development and commercialization-related activities, including quotation, product/process development, commercialization, and on-going production support of dietary supplement dosage forms. Works closely with Sales, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, and Technical Operations for technical support.

Responsibilities include close cooperation with R&D Formulators on optimizations of commercialization processes, procedures and equipment, hands-on production support and troubleshooting.

• Supports the development of robust product formulations in accordance to customer specifications, business requirements, and good manufacturing practices (Dosage forms: Gummies, Softgels, Capsules, Tablets, etc.)
• Prepares technical documentation relevant to product development and commercialization, including, but not limited to: Quotations, Verification Protocols, Bulk Labels, Pilot Reports, etc.
• Support raw materials sourcing and qualifications.
• Coordinates production and/or produces product prototypes for internal and/or customer evaluation, or to ensure robustness of commercial formulations
• Conducts Production troubleshooting, identifies product and process related opportunities, and works with Formulators to implement changes for new commercial products/runs.
• Maintains accurate records of all projects and assignments.
• Support the preparation to new ERP transition, driving the clean-up of legacy raw material and finished products, ensuring cross-functional alignment and support
• Creates effective back-up plans and cross trains department personnel
• Follow established department SOP's, cGMP regulations, and batch record instructions.
• Complies with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
• Maintains a safe work environment and operates in a safe manner.
• Perform other job duties related to the job, as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or other relevant science with 2 or more years of work experience; or HS Diploma or equivalent with 6 years of years of work experience in nutraceutical, food, pharmaceutical or related industries;
• Any combination of experience, education, and training that will provide the level of knowledge, skills, and ability required for the job.
• This position requires high level of creativity, exceptional organization and project management skills.
• Good knowledge and practical experience with product/process development and processing laboratory techniques
• Excellent written and oral communications skills & techniques, with high level of attention to detail
• Excellent root cause analysis and problem-solving skills. Proficient in creating formulation/process models, and solves complex problems
• Proficient knowledge of Company safety requirements, including GMP, SOPs, and OSHA regulations, applicable to the job
• General knowledge and understanding of nutritional ingredients, basic product formulations and their claims
• General understanding of manufacturing, regulatory, supply chain and business implications of formulation decisions

This position is currently classified as on-site.

Base Salary Range: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Holidays, Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program.

The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
