What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Assistant position at Best Friends Animal Hospital?
Best Friends Animal Hospital is looking to hire a responsible individual to help take care of both dogs and cats that are boarding or hospitalized within our clinic.
Responsibilities include:
- Letting all boarding dogs outside to eliminate
- Providing fresh water and food as instructed
- Medicating patients appropriately
- Monitoring animals closely for any signs of illness or injury
- Providing and changing litter boxes
- Prompt and thorough cleaning and sanitation of enclosures / runs
- Sanitation of food and water bowls as well as litter boxes
- General janitorial duties (vacuuming, mopping, laundry, trash etc.)
This position is for afternoon/evening work Monday through Friday as well as every other weekend. The weekend work entails a split shift with morning and afternoon/evening responsibilities. Holiday shifts are also required.
Total hours will vary depending on the number of boarders in our care but should average approximately 20 hours per week.
Previous experience preferred but not required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
