Staff Accountant

Salary: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Reports to: Assistant Controller

Best Supply is one of the most trusted wholesale distributors of commercial interior building materials across the Midwest and Southeast United States. We are looking for a reliable Staff Accountant to assist in closing the books and post close activities. To be effective in this role you must have a strong knowledge of accounting principles and be an organized professional with a great eye for detail. The goal of this position is to ensure the accounting and financial processes of the company are up to standard and contribute to accurate financial reporting and control.

Responsibilities

• Generate and post core journal entries
• Prepare daily banking reports and journal entries
• Back the AP processes, process vendor setups and review AP account distribution and AP Recon weekly.
• Prepare month-end account reconciliations and schedules
• Process monthly payroll JV and accruals
• Participate in preparation for the annual audit
• Support periodic physical inventories with the Management team.
• Cross train on fixed asset accounting
• Participate in Financial Statement review with the Management team

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in distribution or manufacturing setting
• Intermediate to expert knowledge with MS Office products
• Well-organized with ability to prioritize
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
• Experience with Agility software is a plus
