Purpose for the Position:

To do and/or assist in preventive maintenance, general maintenance, repairs and remodeling of buildings, grounds and pools.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Maintains standards of guest service quality and hospitality.

2. Contributes to the guest satisfaction and perception of service.

3. Maintenance and preventive maintenance and repair of all equipment and appliances, HVAC units, vents, ice machines, fixtures, filters, pools and spa’s.

4. Complete maintenance of all grounds, landscaping and parking lots, including snow removal.
5. Completes any painting, patching, repairs to rooms and public areas.
6. Works closely with the Housekeeping and the Front Desk to ensure proper correction of deficiencies.

7. Aids and instructs craftsmen in scheduling work, ordering materials and completing assignments by a specific date.

8. Maintains an ongoing preventive maintenance program.
9. Maintains tools and equipment in proper working order.

10. Reports any major repair items or deficiencies to supervisor immediately.

11. Cleans and administers chemicals to pools and/or spa’s.

12. Maintains flexible works schedule so as to address any emergency situation.

13. Records information and maintenance of logs as required for all equipment and/or areas of the motel.

14. Orders and receives supplies so as to maintain adequate inventory levels.

15. Performs and other duties as required.

Math Skills: Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to : Calculate surface, volumes, weights, measures and chemicals.

Language Skills: Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to: read newspapers, magazines, journals, manuals, safety rules, instructions, memos and letters. Write reports in legible handwriting. Participate in staff meetings, safety committee meetings and discussions.

Relationship to Data and People

Data: Coordinating; Determining time, place and sequence of operations or actions to be taken on the basis of analysis of data; executing determination and/or reporting on events.

People: Able to communicate with people on different subjects and work well with all kinds of people.

Specific Vocational Preparation: High School graduate. Prefer vocational training and/or 6 months experience in commercial buildings maintenance and repair. Must be a self-starter not requiring constant supervision and be able to work in a safe and careful manner. Must have own transportation and home telephone. Should be neat, well-groomed and polite. Good driving record and valid drivers license.
