The Product Safety and Compliance Specialist is responsible for oversight and coordination of all US-focused product safety and regulatory compliance activities.

- Monitor regulatory compliance developments and trends and assess impact of new and amended product safety requirements applicable to Bestway products
- Conduct research and risk assessments on new development; provide guidance to internal stakeholders on necessary compliance and labeling requirements as well as design best practices for both product and packaging
- Identify and evaluate safety, regulatory, or quality concerns with existing products and provide recommendations to internal business partners for resolution
- Maintain database of relevant product incident information; analyze post-performance and market surveillance data to determine trends in potential safety or quality issues
- Identify process improvement opportunities related to product safety compliance; develop and implement program controls and guidance documents
- Spearhead initiatives for inter-departmental training on safety, performance, regulatory, and labeling compliance
- Review and serve as approver of product manuals and packaging to ensure necessary warnings are present and all product claims have been substantiated
Requirements
Competencies:
- Ability to work with external partners and third parties on product compliance and safety issues, including third-party test labs
- Knowledge in how to navigate regulatory requirements at the federal, state, and local level, including CFR Title 16, CPSIA, Prop 65, and ASTM, ISO, IEC, or other relevant industry standards
- Ability to apply analytical skills to current processes and make recommendations for improvements and problem resolutions
Required Education and Experience
- At least three years related product safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, or legal experience required
- Extensive experience participating in standards development and serving on standards committees
- Manufacturing or retail compliance experience preferred

Salary : $60,000 - $75,000
