ROLE AND BEHAVIORAL DESCRIPTIONS
The Guest Service Manager is responsible for the food and beverage service throughout the facility. Service areas include, but are not limited to: main dining room, room service, Herb Garden, SNF, Heartwood, the Pines, Shadow Woods, meetings and events/catering. The individual is accountable for the service staff and the quality and consistency of service provided. The Guest Service Manager will train, schedule and manage staff to meet the current and changing needs of Bethany residents, families and external events.
This is an “on the floor” position and the GSM is expected to be cross trained in all positions. As with all Food Service Staff, the individual must work to ensure that meals provided are nourishing, palatable, well-balanced meals that meet the daily nutritional and special needs of each resident.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Culinary or Hospitality Management degree preferred.
- Serve-Safe certified, or ability to attain certification within 90-days of hire.
- Solve practical problems with a variety of variables using critical thinking and basic math skills.
- Ability to carry-out all assigned tasks, duties and instructions (verbal or written) adequately and in accordance with facility mission and philosophy and department goals and objectives, both physically and mentally.
- All general staffing requirements and an understanding of the needs of the elderly.
