Job Description: Technology Support Specialist
Role
This position is responsible for responding to and resolving day-to-day technology support requests involving desktop and software support, communication systems, educational technology, general network and cable infrastructure needs, and mobile technology.
Essential Responsibilities
- Respond to all campus support needs in a timely fashion.
- Oversee repair and maintenance of end-user devices.
- Assists with network switches, communication devices, and cable infrastructure.
- Assists with portable technology inventory and setups.
- Maintain knowledge of current technologies.
- Maintain organization of technical work areas.
- Identify opportunities to improve services to the campus with new products or technologies.
- Assist other areas as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience
- Minimum of two-year's experience in Information technology.
- Experienced in current Microsoft Operating Systems, Office Suite, and mobile technologies.
- Experienced in current Apple computer systems and mobile technologies.
- Knowledge of network technology (TCP/IP, routers, switches, firewall). Knowledge of VOIP, digital, and analog phone devices.
- Knowledge of media editing systems (Adobe Premier, Final Cut Pro, Sony Vegas Pro).
- Experience in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure technologies.
- Basic knowledge of scripting languages and group policy. Knowledge of MDM and update technologies for Windows and Mac.
Education
- Associate degree in computer science or comparable experience in information technology.

- Ability to communicate professionally.
Other Skills
- Exhibits initiative and a willingness to learn; able to quickly grasp and master new skills.
- Well-organized, able to manage projects, resources, and information, and able to function independently within established job responsibilities and parameters.
- Must embody Christian character and be able to build relationships across the university.
Physical Requirements
Position requires standing, stooping, crouching, and using hands to grasp. Reaching, walking, balancing, and carrying are required. Occasional lifting of items weighing 40 to 60 pounds.
Working conditions
Position requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments consisting of moderate sound with occasional exposure to very loud sounds. Incumbent may be exposed to hot or chilly temperatures and extreme humidity. The position involves working with electricity and potential for electric shock. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration is also required.
