What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resident Assistant position at Bethesda House of Schenectady, Inc.?
The Resident Assistant is responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy living environment for the individuals who live at the Lighthouse residence. The Resident Assistant will preserve the dignity and respect of each individual regardless of personal differences. The Resident Assistant will work with residents on a daily basis on basic living skills and activities which shall be conducted in a supportive, non-confrontational manner. All staff will adhere to the Housing First philosophy.
PER DIEM WORK AVAILABLE
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Maintain resident confidentiality.
· Record all appropriate data in designated logs accurately and legibly.
· Communicate with supervisor in a timely manner, as needed (i.e.: maintenance concerns).
· Maintain appropriate boundaries with residents and keep all information regarding residents confidential.
· Attend all designated meetings/trainings.
· Attend to daily maintenance and upkeep of residence and grounds as outlined in the Shift Schedule (i.e.: general housekeeping, lawn mowing, snow removal, etc.).
· Assist residents with living skills (i.e.: meal preparation, laundry, personal hygiene, etc.)
· Maintain clean and accurate reports and records as assigned.
· Adhere to the agency’s policies and procedures as well as the personnel manual.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Associate’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
· High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Valid, clean NYS Driver’s License and ability to provide own transportation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.20 - $14.70 per hour
