A professional mental health staff serves a growing caseload of 2,800 patients, of which greater than ninety-five percent are chronically mentally ill and suffering from major psychiatric disorders. Hopewell Center operates a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Center and a Comprehensive Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center for adults and youth. Many services are provided at schools. Emergency services, including a crisis bed and mobile outreach, are available twenty-four hours per day. A multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, counselors, social workers, educators, and support staff work diligently to carry out the mission of providing comprehensive care to patients and their families.
The Health Data Specialist will perform complex extraction, analysis, research, mapping and evaluation of healthcare data. Key responsibilities include working collaboratively with the HCH Team and IT department to design, test and develop new reports, to generate and analyze reports, analyze data to make recommendations for program development, and to present data in formats that are easily understood by stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs data analysis to identify cost drivers, gaps in clinical treatment, population health trends, etc.
- Executes effectiveness analysis - clinical and financial - using statistical methods and presents results to the stakeholders and suggests ways to improve effectiveness.
- Maintains and ensures strict confidentiality of client, company and personnel information, including Personal Health Information (PHI).
- Organizes data tracking processes and creates a streamlined approach to housing and managing data.
- Develops tracking mechanisms and reports to capture critical information for client and team services; ensures timelines are met.
Education and/or Experience: Preferred Degree in Computer Science or related Information Techonology degree. Minimum experience of 1-2 years in health data entry or health analytics and reporting is required. Knowledge and experience with SQL programming, although Crystal Reports is preferred. Masterly knowledge and experience with advanced excel is required. Knowledge of building Access data base is strongly preferred
