Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Therapist (SLT) to join our team at a leading Developmental Disabilities (DDD) provider in New Jersey. This role focuses on providing high-quality speech and language therapy to individuals aged 21 and older with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate communication abilities and needs of clients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's specific needs and goals.
- Provide direct therapy services to enhance communication skills, including speech, language, and social communication.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including other therapists, caregivers, and support coordinators, to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
- Educate clients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies and techniques to support ongoing progress.
- Document client progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to program development and improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current New Jersey state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Experience working with individuals with IDD, particularly those aged 21 and older, is highly preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various locations for client appointments.
