RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in teams of two to perform field inspections on in-service bridges and culverts throughout Indiana.
- Prepare bridge inspection reports.
- Perform load rating calculations.
- Recommend major work or repairs based on deficiencies and estimate costs.
- Prioritize major work and repair recommendations based on severity and need.
- Assist with bridge design calculations.
- Assist with plan development of new and rehabilitated bridges.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
- Previous bridge or transportation experience preferred.
- Ability to get Indiana PE within 5 years.
- Previous experience with CAD, bridge design, and load rating software is preferred.
- Ability to clearly communicate with co-workers and clients, in written and verbal form.
- Valid driver’s license.
WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Primary functions of this role include field work and traveling.
