Position Purpose: Lead large projects (Design Process) or multiple, more complex projects. Work with the Lead Architect and Client Leader to assemble a project team, develop a project budget and schedule, and execute the project aligned with the Collective Ambition.
Position Qualifications: Minimum 10 years of architectural experience, undergraduate architectural degree and architectural registration.
Special Demands of the Position: Travel will vary and average up to 30% of the time.

Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Manage the client, consultants and project staff through the project process on multiple projects, programs, or large projects.
- Manage project work, including Understand, Discover, Concept, Develop, Document, Build, Measure and Share services for the project.
- Coordinate all aspects of the project work with the client’s representative.
- Assist Client Leader in the selection of appropriate consultants for projects.
- With Lead Architect, assist in managing the allocation of resources.
- Develop and advance direct reports.
- Manage the scorecards and development plans of direct reports.
- Constantly and consistently communicate the firm’s vision, strategy and culture to staff.
- Consistently Share knowledge with staff in core areas of expertise.
- Play a major role for a market initiative or BHDP wide initiative as defined in BHDP business plans.
- Membership and participation in professional organizations or BHDP supported community organizations or events.
- Assist with obtaining new work from and expanding the type of work BHDP does with existing clients.
- With Client Leader and Lead Architect achieve sales goals for existing clients.
- Foster a personal relationship with key client contacts.
- Proactively manage the client and their expectations.
- Participate in projects and portray the necessary behaviors to maintain or exceed an annual Net Revenue greater than $1,000,000.
- Participate in projects and portray the necessary behaviors to maintain or exceed an annual Net Multiplier greater than 3.5, or higher goal as set by the market / project / client type.
- Participate in projects and portray the necessary behaviors to attain individual chargeability and project net multiplier goals per scorecard.
- Facilitate project meetings, pin-ups and brainstorming sessions.
- Teach and attend Baxter U classes in expertise and project focus areas.
- Be an advocate of the collective ambition through action.
- Motivate and inspire direct reports by:
- Developing BHDP leadership characteristics.
- Developing strength in the eight BHDP core competencies.
- Creating clarity related to assignments and schedules.
- Build and share expertise in a market: Higher Ed, Industrial, Retail, Government, Workplace
- Build and share expertise in primary and focus area-Design, Management, Strategy, or Technical.
- Demonstrate advanced technology (e.g., Revit, Sketch-up, Rhino) in architecture.
- Effectively manage all phases of the design process - Understand, Discover, Concept, Develop, Document, Build, Measure and Share.
- Effectively incorporate the BHDP vision into all projects.
- Effectively drive the BHDP design process into all projects.
- Deliver the project story during the Share phase of all projects.
