Job Description: $$ Sign on bonus available $$ MRI TECH 40 Hours Weekly, Full Time, Second Shift (Every third weekend rotation, 1430-2300 on weekdays and 1230-2100 on weekends. Will participate in holiday and call rotation ) MRI Department The Radiology Department at Baptist Health Louisville is a large department comprised of more than 170 employees. The department is full-service offering Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Digital Mammography, Bone Densitometry, Vascular, MRI and CT. MRI department. Job Summary: With limited supervision, executes diagnostic MRI images. Notifies appropriate persons for equipment services. Keeps appropriate supplies stocked. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual’s job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time. 1. Maintain a professional environment through a clean and orderly department, adherence to dress code, and personal actions. 2. Screens patients and checks screening form to insure patient safety. 3. When indicated by the patient screening process, assure that x-rays are taken and cleared by a radiologist prior to the MRI procedure. 4. Obtain patient history. 5. Assess patients for medication needs 6. Preps patients for exam, i.e. clothing change, reassurance, medication, explain procedure. 7. Transports patients in a secondary capacity, when transporters are not available and dictated by necessity. 8. Performs daily equipment QA. 9. Monitors patients while in MRI area. 10. Administers contrast media under the direction of a physician and in accordance with department policy. 11. Assist in other areas of Radiology as needed. 12. Responsible for all records and charting of information related to individual cases. 13. Reports malfunctions and problems to the proper persons, including management personnel. 14. Carries out additional duties as assigned. Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required: Graduate of accredited school of Radiology Technology. Active KBMIRT at time of hire. ARRT within 90 days of hire. MRI Registry is required. Registry eligible candidates are required to obtain MRI certification within one year of employment. When in house training occurs, employee has 28 weeks of training before their one year period begins where they have to obtain MR certification. Must have current BCLS certification within 90 days of hire.
