Overview
Performs light industrial welding laboring duties on jobsite. Perform support functions to facilitate the safe, efficient and high quality completion of Bi-Con’s construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Promote the company’s safety culture.
- Participate in daily huddles and safety meetings.
- Safely use, maintain and store all tools and material used in the course of work.
- Assist assigned welder with all aspects of welding.
- Operation of grinders, portable band saws, and other hand tools.
- Pipe and flange make-ups.
- Hand excavation.
- Assist with rigging and setting pipe.
- Assist with material identification.
- Enforce safety rules and methods.
- Must be capable of extreme physical work and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Provide assistance to field crews as necessary.
- Fire Watch as needed.
- Other duties as assigned, including general laborer duties.
Qualifications
- General knowledge of construction/welding activities.
- Willingness and desire to learn natural gas construction.
- Effective communication and interaction skills with other trades and personnel on the projects.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- This is a field position and requires 100% travel.
- This position is subjected to the elements (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.).
