Your Impact:

As an Accounts Payable Specialist for Big Bend Hospice, you will handle the accounts payable records for the organization. The AP role is vital for the smooth functioning of the department and organization. You will experience the joy of applying accounting principles and handling analytical work that requires you to evaluate the process. In addition, this role allows you to establish new strategies based on best practices.

Your Main Duties and Responsibilities:

(Includes but is not limited to)

  • Apply basic accounting principles (accounts payable/general bookkeeping)
  • Provide vendor service and support and process payments
  • Proficiently use accounting software, electronic invoice processing, and Excel
  • Manage and verify invoices, reconcile balance spreadsheets
  • Problem-solve and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Maintain an organized workflow and record transactions
  • Be flexible enough to handle a broad range of financial transactions and activities that will vary from time to time to keep things interesting
  • Be an out-of-the-box thinker and look for ways to make process improvements

Requirements:

  • Associate degree, vocational or technical school degree (minimum), and equivalent work experience
  • 3 – 5 years of full cycle AP experience
  • Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment preferred
  • Experience using ERP or electronic AP solutions is highly preferred
  • Experience working with multiple entities and inter-company preferred
