Job Summary:
- Perform duties for the surgical patient in accordance with the Nursing Standards of Care and AORN Standards and will implement and evaluate that care utilizing the Nursing Process
- Will function as a member of the surgical team linking sterile and non-sterile fields
- Will organize and oversee the operating room during the surgical procedure by maintaining surgical records, assisting anesthesia as needed, keeping the patient’s family informed of the patient’s condition
- Assure patient safety and comfort, assisting scrub team in maintaining sterile field, controlling, and maintaining equipment and supplies
Qualifications:
- Requires an associate's degree and is certified as a registered nurse
- Prefer bachelor's degree in nursing
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
- Must have a license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas
