What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Chef position at Big Delicious Planet?
Join the BDP Events Team! We're looking for reliable, experienced, detail oriented chefs to work at weddings and events with us! The Event Chefs work with our culinary team to produce and execute amazing food for events we host onsite at BDP throughout the summer and fall, and at venues across Chicago throughout the year. Great job for chefs looking to pick up evening and weekend work!
What you'll be doing:
- Assisting in food preparation at our catering kitchen
- Working with our team onsite or at venues across Chicago to execute small & large events
- Working in a fast paced environment plating appetizers, platters, salads, entrees and desserts
- Setting up temporary offsite kitchen workspace for events
- Assisting in setting up food stations, working action stations if needed
- Loading food in and out of events
What we require from you:
- Must be fully vaccinated and boosted
- Passion for globally-inspired, farm-to-table cuisine
- Knowledge of food safety
- Experience prepping, finishing and beautifully plating appetizers
- Experience with various types of
- Ability to follow precise directions
- Ability to work with a team or independently
- Ability to lift and move more than 50 pounds
- Reliable transportation to and from events
- Effective communication in English
- A great attitude and work ethic
- Valid Driver's license an added bonus if you can drive our vans
- ServSafe certification
- Following our environmental standards
Hours vary, but it's a lot evenings and weekends. We'll reach out to qualified candidates to come in for an interview and stage.
