K-9 Care Specialist (Kennel Technician)
Big Dog Ranch Rescue is a one-of-a-kind dog rescue facility located in Loxahatchee Groves, Florida. We are looking for experienced K-9 Care Specialist. To qualify for this role, the candidate must have a positive attitude and a genuine love for dogs of all shapes and sizes. In this role, you do more than cleaning and disinfecting our kennels – you will also learn animal care and behavior basics while assisting our team with feeding, and walking tasks. Having previous experience in a pet care environment or kennel management is a plus, but we will provide training to the right candidate.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect the dog rooms and kennels
- Provide dogs with food and water according to our feeding schedule
- Give dogs in our care their medication as directed by veterinarians and vet techs.
- Walk and play with the dogs
- Help with bathing and grooming tasks as needed
- Abide by all BDRR operational policies and procedures
- May be asked to fill in on an emergency basis with needed.
- Execute all operation processes and procedures (SOP)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Ability to move throughout the ranch for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs.
- Able to bend, stoop, and reach, load dogs, clean bunk rooms and kennels

Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Experience providing animal care (1-2 years highly preferred)
- Must love dogs
- A flexible schedule
- Physical ability to work with, dogs of various breeds and sizes.
