What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Technician - Headquarters position at Big R Holdings?
As an IT Technician, you will be responsible for a range of technical and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of Big R IT infrastructure.
- Technical Support: Configure, install, and troubleshoot PCs, printers, and wireless technologies. Conduct basic computer network troubleshooting to resolve connectivity issues.
- User Management: Create and manage email users in Office 365, including assigning them to appropriate groups. Set up domain users and ensure they are assigned to the correct groups.
- Software Proficiency: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the IT software used daily by our users, ensuring continuous operation and support.
- Cabling and Equipment: Perform basic structured cabling installation and termination. Identify and manage IT equipment used in IT rooms.
- Tool Utilization: Safely and efficiently use hand tools, power tools, and IT-specific tools to perform various tasks.
- Time Management: Effectively manage your time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and support organizational needs.
- Travel and Communication: Meet travel expectations as required for on-site support and communicate effectively with supervisors to provide updates and seek guidance when needed. Also, understanding technical lingo and Big R terminology
- Departmental Support: Assist with non-IT responsibilities managed by the department, demonstrating flexibility and a team-oriented approach.
