What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier position at Big Tex Taqueria?
Cashiers play a critical customer service role by providing customers with fast, friendly, accurate and safe service.
The Cashier is responsible for completing sales transactions within the establishment and performing other support functions which may include cleaning the food, display and/or stock areas and assisting with stocking activities; performs all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by management. This is a non-exempt position.
Operates a cash register and receives payment from customers in cash or credit card, accurately counts and provides change to customers as required, and follows all customer service and cash handling policies and procedures
Maintains a solid knowledge of products and services available
Cleans and stocks work area
Assists in locating, reconciling, and verifying the accuracy of transactions and operate data processing equipment
Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing 0-50 pounds during scheduled shift.
Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull, walk and squat during scheduled shift.
In addition to the essential job duties stated above, the ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others, including guests and co-workers, are essential functions of the job.
Be at least 16 years of age
Available to work various shifts (including weekends, nights, and/or holidays)
Excellent customer service skills
Energetic and enthusiastic personality
