Interconnection Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the coordination and approval of solar power systems’ interconnection with local electric utilities. This includes managing the application process, ensuring compliance with local regulations, coordinating with utility companies, and ensuring that the interconnection process follows the correct technical standards.
Responsibilities:
Interconnection Management:
- Coordinate the interconnection of solar systems to the utility grid, including the submission of applications, engineering documents, and approval requests.
- Work with utility companies and regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals for solar project interconnection.
- Ensure timely and efficient processing of interconnection requests and troubleshoot issues that may arise during the process.
- Interface with internal teams, such as design, engineering, and construction, to ensure that interconnection requirements are properly incorporated into the project
- System Type Coordination:
- Ensure that all solar installations aligned with interconnection rules and technical specifications set by utility providers.
- Work with the engineering team to select and verify appropriate inverters, breakers, transformers, and other equipment needed to meet grid interconnection standards.
- Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal regulations regarding solar energy system interconnection and ensure projects comply with all standards.
- Ensure that all necessary documentation is submitted to the proper authorities for permitting and interconnection approval.
- Review interconnection agreements to verify accuracy and adherence to contract terms.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and design teams to ensure the feasibility of interconnections.
- Support project teams with technical information related to interconnection requirements and ensure that systems are designed with grid connectivity in mind.
- Communicate with clients to explain the interconnection process, timelines, and any necessary follow-up actions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in the solar industry or renewable energy sector, with a focus on electrical systems or grid integration.
- Familiarity with interconnection standards and utility regulations.
- Strong understanding of electrical grid systems, inverters, and related equipment.
- Previous experience managing interconnection projects or working with utility companies is a plus.
- Maintain accurate records of all interconnection agreements, approvals, and communications with utility providers.
- Prepare and submit regular reports to project managers or senior leadership regarding the status of interconnection approvals and type selections.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
