One Classroom Early Learning Program – 16 Children
Position Overview
The Temporary Program Supervisor provides instructional and operational oversight for a single-classroom early learning program serving up to 16 children. This role supports program quality, staff guidance, and licensing compliance while the Owner/Director completes required education.
This role is ideal for an experienced early childhood educator seeking flexible, short-term supervisory hours.
Position Details
• Position Type: Temporary / Part-Time
• Duration: Up to one academic quarter (or until education requirements are met)
• Time Commitment: Approximately 6–8 hours per week (24–32 hours per month)
• Schedule: Flexible; combination of onsite and remote support
• Compensation: Starts at $30/hour, commensurate with experience
Key Responsibilities
• Provide guidance on curriculum implementation and classroom practices
• Support developmentally appropriate and play-based learning
• Offer coaching and feedback to teaching staff as needed
• Be available for consultation regarding classroom management and child guidance
• Support alignment with DCYF licensing requirements and best practices
• Review incidents, behavior concerns, or documentation when applicable
• Maintain regular communication and check-ins with the Owner/Director
Qualifications
• Meets Washington State DCYF Program Supervisor qualifications
• Experience in early childhood education and classroom supervision
• Knowledge of licensing requirements and developmentally appropriate practice
MUST HAVE
• ECE State Certificate (Washington) or equivalent credential that meets DCYF requirements
Reporting Relationship
The Temporary Program Supervisor collaborates closely with and reports to the Owner/Director and does not assume full administrative or director-level authority.
