BMW Parts Advisor / Parts Counter
Bill Jacobs BMW in Naperville is adding an accomplished Parts Advisor to its high-performance team.

We are looking for a tech-savvy individual with great organizational and communication skills as well as a strong work ethic. In this role, your goal is to assist our customers (both internal and external) with all of their parts needs, while creating an overall positive experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provide fast and courteous service to technicians, retail, and wholesale customers.
- Utilize reference manuals, parts illustrations, and computer programs to select all parts needed to complete a vehicle repair.
- List and price out parts on repair orders and or counter tickets.
- Retrieve parts from their appropriate shelves and dedicated locations within the parts department.
- Write purchase orders for parts as needed from outside suppliers and obtain management approval.
- Properly input lost sales and sales into the inventory control system.
- Maintain records of all special-order parts and notify the person who authorized the order of receipt.
- Maintain the special-order parts inventory in a clean and orderly manner.
- Make sure technicians turn in all defective parts necessary for warranty scrap and tag them appropriately.
- Help “scrap” parts held for factory claims with the factory representative.
- Maintain the warranty return parts inventory in a clean and organized manner.
- Participate in conducting a perpetual inventory.
- Keep work area clean, free of debris, safe and put away loose stock.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior automotive parts advisor / parts counter experience is a must
- Knowledge of automotive repairs, processes, and the use of parts catalogs
- Must have computer proficiency
- Prior CDK experience a plus
- Ability to identify, comprehend, and act on changing customer requirements
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in conditions such as varying temperatures, noise, and fumes.
- Ability to work Saturdays and some holidays.
