What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Maintenance Technician IV position at Bio-Rad Laboratories?

In this role as a Bio-Rad Facilities Technician IV, you will provide support as assigned. Responsible for the cost-effective operation, installation, and calibration in accordance with manufacturers' and/or Bio-Rad requirements for all plant services, facility/utility equipment and/or production equipment. Provides plant security and key control. Coordinates and directs providers of contracted services such as cleaning, security, and HVAC mechanical. Participates in primary manufacturing process equipment validation activities, as well as those associated with the fixed building equipment.

How You'll Make An Impact:

  • Provides support as assigned.
  • Responsible for maintaining commercial HVAC and Refrigeration systems.
  • Troubleshooting and maintain all electrical systems.
  • Responsible for the cost-effective operation, installation, and calibration in accordance with manufacturers' and/or Bio-Rad requirements for all plant services, facility/utility equipment and/or production equipment.
  • Provide facility support for off hours emergency and on call services.
  • Coordinates and directs providers of contracted services such as cleaning, security, and HVAC mechanical.
  • Participates in primary manufacturing process equipment validation activities, as well as those associated with the fixed building equipment.

What You Bring:

  • High school/trade school diploma, GED, or equivalent (e.g., ITC/NTC and above). Certified electrician license preferred.
  • 6 years' related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience or Associate degree with 5 years' experience preferred.
  • 3 years' maintenance and repairing experience with large refrigeration systems such as -40C walking freezer in warehouse.
  • 3 years' experience with GMP facility and SOP driven environment.
  • Industrial Standard Certification helpful (CFM, AFE, CPM, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge of regulation requirements for preventive and break-down maintenance.
  • In depth knowledge of methods, practices and procedures in one or more craft areas.
  • Ability to troubleshoot to component level general building and equipment electro-mechanical devices.
  • Proficient with tools and equipment common to the trade.
  • Adept at establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with both internal customers and external contacts made during the course of work.
  • Knowledge of PC, MS Office, and basic software.
  • Must be ok with working occational OT and weekends, as well as being on-call 1 week out of the month.
  • This position will either work our Day Shift (6am to 2pm) or 2nd shift (3pm to 11pm).

Compensation: The estimated hourly rate for this position is $36.63 to $50.43 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
