We are a prosthetic and orthotic company located in the midwest searching for a dependable Orthotic and Prosthetic Fabrication Technician for our central fabrication lab in Merrillville, IN. This is an entry-level, full-time position, great for someone searching for a rewarding career.
The hours are Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm. We offer on-the-job training, sick/vacation time, health benefits, paid holidays, and 401K with a company match.
Job Responsibilities
- Fabricate and repair custom prosthetic and orthotic devices creating artificial limbs
- Sawing, carving, cutting, grinding wood, plastic, and metal
- Using various hand tools
- Working with sheet plastic and fiberglass
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Working with your hands
- Attention to detail
Requirements:
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Flexible to travel to other company locations
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have organizational, time management, and planning skills
- Must have great interpersonal and verbal skills
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus
- Experience working as a handyman is a plus
- Comfortable using a variety of hand tools and machinery
