JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Assistant Officer of Planning and Logistics ensures the effective implementation of goals and initiatives through high-level project management, process and systematic improvement, and grant writing. The Assistant Officer of Planning and Logistics provides executive-level support in managing budgets, contracts, and compliance, and plays a vital role in presenting and communicating project initiatives to the Board of Education and external stakeholders. This position also requires experience managing capital projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in managing high-level, cross-functional projects from planning to execution, ensuring alignment with district priorities, on-time delivery, and measurable impact.
- Continuously evaluates and improves operational processes to increase efficiency, support innovation, and strengthen organizational performance.
- Provides administrative support in the areas of planning, logistics, and organizational strategy.
- Collaborates with internal departments and leadership teams to support the seamless integration of district-wide initiatives and operational plans.
- Reviews financial transactions, requisitions, and expenditures to ensure fiscal accountability and compliance with district guidelines.
- Assists in contract management and vendor relationships, including procurement, negotiation, performance evaluation, and adherence to contract terms.
- Ensures full compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and contractual obligations through ongoing review and quality assurance practices.
- Prepares and delivers presentations and reports to the Board of Education and executive leadership, clearly communicating progress, outcomes, and recommendations.
- Supports a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence by identifying grants to support district initiatives.
- Performs other duties and tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position, as assigned by the Superintendent's designee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree or have a minimal of 10 years of relevant or comparable experience in the private or public sector.
- Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
