Quality Control Inspector/Quality Inspector Clerk
Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Quality Manager
Summary
This position is located at our Alabama Aerospace office, 102 Skylab Drive, Huntsville, AL 35806. This position will involve assisting in the day-to-day activities within the Quality Department, inspecting parts prior to shipping, ensuring that all inspection equipment is in good working condition, having the ability to work independently and in support of a team environment, critical thinking and using good judgment in decision-making. The position will also aid in the in-process inspection process and shipping process as needed.
Essential Functions/Duties
- Perform sample inspections on all inbound & outbound products to ensure product quality standards are met.
- Organize and maintain all inspection instruments.
- Coordinate with Quality Manger or team to schedule calibration services as needed.
- Correspond with Quality Assurance representatives on any defects found during inspections.

- Ability to read and understand drawing and specifications/standards.
- Familiarity with and ability to use calipers, micrometers, and various gages.
Physical/Cognitive Demands
This is a physically active role including walking long distances (over uneven surfaces) to/within our production facility, lifting 50lbs or more, and standing for long periods. Position also requires bending, stooping, squatting, or standing as necessary. Cognitive abilities required include deductive reasoning, information ordering, oral comprehension, oral expression, problem sensitivity, written comprehension, and written expression.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. The hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Potential for weekday and weekend overtime as job duties demand.
Preferred Education and Experience
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role preferred
- 2-3 years’ experience within AS/ISO environments
- 1 year min experience with the use of gages (calipers, micrometers, ring and plug gages
