About the Role

What we expect from this role..

Architect Cross-Platform Interfaces

• Lead the design of responsive and adaptive front-end architectures for Android, iOS, Web, and SmartTV applications.
• Define UI components, navigation patterns, and state management strategies to deliver consistent, engaging user experiences across devices.

Provide Technical Leadership

• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to translate business requirements into innovative front-end solutions.
• Drive decisions on frameworks, rendering strategies, and performance optimization, creating clear architectural documentation to guide development.

Engage with Customers

• Partner with sales engineers during pre-sales to provide UI/UX guidance and work with customer success teams to ensure seamless onboarding and customization of front-end experiences.

Optimize Video Playback

• Design and integrate video player frameworks (ExoPlayer, AVPlayer, HTML5, or SmartTV-specific players) for smooth playback, adaptive bitrate streaming (HLS/DASH), and DRM support.
• Optimize for low latency, accessibility, and device-specific constraints.

Mentor & Innovate:

• Promote best practices in modular UI design, performance optimization, and accessibility (WCAG).
• Mentor front-end engineers, conduct design and code reviews, and leverage AI programming tools to accelerate development workflows.

What we are looking for..

• Seasoned Engineer: 10 years in front-end development, with at least 2 years in senior or architect roles, ideally designing consumer-facing applications in the media/streaming domain.
• Cross-Platform Expertise: Deep expertise in building front-end applications for Android (Kotlin/Jetpack Compose), iOS (Swift/SwiftUI), Web (React, TypeScript, Next.js), and SmartTV platforms (Tizen, WebOS, Roku). Proficient with responsive design, PWAs, and cross-platform frameworks (React Native, Flutter).
• Streaming Specialist: Skilled in video playback integration (ExoPlayer, AVPlayer, Video.js), HLS/DASH, DRM (Widevine, FairPlay, PlayReady), and adaptive streaming. Knowledgeable about codecs (AVC, HEVC, VP9) and performance optimization for low-end devices.
• Code & Tools Master: Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, Kotlin, Swift, and HTML5/CSS3. Experienced with state management (Redux, MobX, SwiftUI Combine), build tools (Webpack, Vite, Gradle).
• AI-Driven Developer: Expert in AI programming tools (e.g., Cursor, Windsurf, Aider, Cline, RooCode, Augment) to enhance development efficiency and innovation.
• SaaS Pro: Well-versed in building scalable front-end architectures for multi-tenant SaaS, API integration (REST, GraphQL), and authentication (OAuth/JWT).
• Exceptional Communicator: Exceptional at aligning technical and non-technical stakeholders with clear documentation and communication.
• Bonus Experience: Experience with video ad integration (IMA SDK, VAST, VPAID), Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP), Compose Multiplatform (CMP), or prior work with OTT platforms/startups.
• Top-Tier Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a 4-yr accredited institution gloablly ranked in the top 500 universities (QS or US News & World Report)
