Position Overview:
The Demand Planner is a key strategic role responsible for leading forecasting and demand planning activities across all sales channels—including wholesale, retail, and direct-to-consumer (DTC). This position plays an important role in ensuring optimal inventory levels and production plans that meet customer demand both domestically and internationally.
This individual will develop and lead BIXBI’s supply and demand planning function across multiple product groups and 100 SKUs. This will involve forecasting models and operational reports, drawing insights from a variety of internal and external sources—including sales, marketing, finance, and distributor and retailer data. This role requires a high level of analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic thinking to translate data into actionable production and inventory strategies.
In addition to finished goods planning, the Demand Planner is also responsible for managing raw materials and packaging to ensure continuous supply and alignment with forecasted production needs. This includes monitoring inventory levels, coordinating with procurement and suppliers, and proactively addressing potential supply constraints.
The ideal candidate brings a positive attitude, strategic mindset, operational expertise, and a passion for building efficient, data-driven solutions to support growth across a dynamic, multi-channel business. The Demand Planner will lead this function with close collaboration with the CEO, CFO as well as the Operations and Sales team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Extract, organize and synthesize data from multiple platforms (ERP, POS, syndicated data, etc.) to build robust forecasting models to support end-to-end supply chain planning.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in demand planning, identifying when and where deeper analysis is required to guide operational decisions.
- Anticipate future data needs and develop tools that enable better strategic decision-making across forecasting, inventory, and production planning functions.
- Partner with operations, sales, and marketing to ensure product purchase orders accurately reflect forecasted demand, taking into account planned promotions, new customer onboarding, and seasonal volume fluctuations.
- Create and maintain weekly and monthly reports that monitor sales performance, inventory health, and key supply chain KPIs to proactively inform the team.
- Analyze and recommend purchase quantities for finished goods, raw materials, and packaging components—balancing production requirements, lead times, minimum order quantities, and inventory risk.
- Manage raw material and packaging inventory levels to align with production schedules and demand forecasts, minimizing excess inventory and mitigating potential supply disruptions.
- Develop and refine long-range forecasting models, dashboards, and performance metrics to support strategic planning and cross-functional alignment.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5 years of Forecasting or Demand Planning experience, preferably in consumer products (CPG).
- ERP experience is required; NetSuite experience is preferred.
- Ability to work with finance and accounting concepts
- Strong organizational and computer skills with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and a strong competence with Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, and other advanced functions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with a mindset and passion to solve problems.
- Time management skills, including the ability to work efficiently, prioritize projects, and be self-motivated, are expected. Taking initiative and making independent decisions when appropriate is essential.
- A passion for success, a positive and friendly attitude, and a strong work ethic.
- Flexibility and willingness to help in any way possible.
