The Planned Giving Officer will support the fundraising efforts of St. Louis Children’s Hospital Foundation primarily by holding and managing a portfolio of local and regional donors, with a focus on those who have made, or might potentially make, a planned gift to St. Louis Children’s Hospital. They will also contribute to the Foundation’s fundraising efforts through strategy and action in planned giving marketing, stewardship, and estate administration.

Role Purpose

The Planned Giving Officer will support the fundraising efforts of St. Louis Children's Hospital Foundation primarily by holding and managing a portfolio of local and regional donors, with a focus on those who have made, or might potentially make, a planned gift to St. Louis Children's Hospital. They will also contribute to the Foundation's fundraising efforts through strategy and action in planned giving marketing, stewardship, and estate administration.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of planned gift donors and prospects.
  • Work with Planned Giving Director to develop ongoing strategy, timeline, objectives, and metrics for assigned portfolio.
  • Under direction of Planned Giving Director, assist with estate administration matters, including communication with attorneys, trustees, executors, and other estate and trust administrators to ensure planned gifts are fulfilled in a timely manner according to the donor’s intent.
  • In coordination with the Planned Giving Director, and in partnership with the Communications team, contribute to the development and execution of annual planned giving marketing plans.
  • In coordination with the Planned Giving Director and Donor Care Team, contribute to the creation and execution of stewardship/donor engagement activities for Legacy Society members (current planned gift donors).
  • Collaborate with other fundraising staff to create solicitation strategies that include planned gift components.
