Hourly Pay Rage: $19.31 - $28.96 

General Purpose: Maintains buildings and grounds of BHFCU properties.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for the daily care and maintenance of all BHFCU buildings and grounds including snow removal, mowing, landscaping, and clean-up.
  2. Responsible for assisting in the setting up and dismantling of meeting and training areas and equipment.
  3. Assist with moving office furniture and making minor repairs as requested.
  4. Assist outside vendors, when necessary, on building problems and emergencies.
  5. Safely operate snow removal equipment.

Other Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Complete minor repairs and maintenance tasks. Trouble-shoot problems to find solutions.
  2. Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs. Water trees and plants. Pull and remove weeds. Spread salt on public passageways to prevent ice-buildup. Shovel snow from sidewalks.
  3. Clean grounds and remove litter on a daily basis. Maintain cleanliness and appearance of drive-up equipment and ITM/ATM machines.
  4. Repair and paint fences and outbuildings.
  5. Replace air conditioner, furnace, and water fountain filters. Replace light bulbs.
  6. Maintain daily work orders and mileage logs.
  7. Perform other related duties as assigned by Facilities & Fleet Maintenance Manager.

Job Knowledge

  1. Basic plumbing and electrical skills.
  2. Lawn maintenance, painting, and general light repair work.
  3. Use and maintenance of small equipment such as snow blowers, mowers, etc.

Job Qualifications (Skills)

  1. Vision: A sighted person to read and interpret personnel data.
  2. Speech/Hearing: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with staff, members and vendors.
  3. General repair capabilities.
  4. Physical Mobility: Must be able to work outside for periods of time in all kinds of weather, performing tasks that require physical strength and endurance. Daily tasks may include repetitive lifting up to 100 lbs., climbing ladders, and snow removal. Some tasks require shoulder mobility to perform tasks above eye level.
  5. Minor HVAC trouble shooting skills.
  6. Ability to trouble shoot minor electrical issues.

Job Qualifications (Ability)

  1. Ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions to accomplish assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  2. Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely.
  3. Ability to use various hand and power tools.
  4. Ability to interact positively with management and staff and maintain a positive attitude even under extreme pressure, while performing a variety of tasks.
  5. Ability to complete daily logs of work performed on work order tracking program.
  6. Ability to adjust to doing repetitive work or performing a variety of tasks, some requiring immediate attention.

Job Qualifications (Education/Experience)

Job requires three years experience in a related field with equal responsibilities. This position must possess and maintain a current, valid drivers license.

Work Environment/Physical Activities

This is a physical job that calls for a high degree of building knowledge and the ability to maintain buildings in peak shape. Must have mental concentration to interpret and act upon a wide range of situations. The job requires a high degree of attention to detail. Routine tasks should be completed independently. Various tasks involve bending or stooping repeatedly or continually over time and lifting arms above shoulder level.
